Meet the Team
Elizabeth Hobbs
Creative Director
Liz Hobbs is a performer, director, creator, event organizer and stilt walker. She recently completed her MFA in Directing, is the Associate Director of the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival, and the writer behind Silver Skate's interactive Folk Trail experience. Liz has performed all over Western Canada, trained at the Western Australian Circus Festival, Firefly Theatre Circus Academy and has a background in clown and performer created work. She is thrilled to be working alongside these talented and awesome humans.
Sarah Emslie
Company Artist
Sarah is a Canadian theatre artist and holds a BFA from the University of Alberta in Acting.
She has performed with Stonemarrow Theatre, Dead Centre of Town, Parts & Labour Productions, the University of Alberta, and 10/12 Productions. She recently appeared in the dance film Fruit Snack (Problem Child & Co). In addition, Sarah assistant directed the 2017 run of Everyone We Know Will Be There ( Tiny Bear Jaws) and had her playwriting debut at Nextfest 2019 with her show Once We Were Queens. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and tending her plants. She loves cats.
Samantha Jeffery
Company Artist
Samantha Jeffery is an Edmonton-based actor, performer, and creator. Sam also teaches, performs and choreographs fights for stage and film. Sam's skills include stiltwalking, improvisation, roving characters, public speaking, advanced horseback riding, and more.
Veronica Martens
Company Artist
A veteran stiltwalker, Veronica has been walking on stilts for 16 years. She has performed across Alberta at events including the World Cup, the Calgary Stampede, and the St. Albert Children’s Festival; as well as touring to China. Veronica is also a dedicated aerialist.
Samara Von Rad
Company Artist
Samara Von Rad is an aerial coach at Firefly Circus Academy as well as an aerialist, actor, stunt performer, stiltwalker, and musician.
Jayne Waldon
Company Artist
Jayne is an experienced stiltwalker, a trained circus artist, and a burgeoning scientist. She has a long relationship with the National Stiltwalkers of Canada and over ten years of stiltwalking experience. She also trained in and assistant coached aerial arts, trampoline and prop manipulation at the Atlantic Cirque School of Circus Arts in Halifax. Jayne recently completed her studies in Biological Sciences and Psychology at the University of Alberta and has interests to pursue research.

Miranda Allen
Past Creative Director
Miranda Allen is an international variety artist, escapologist, and actor. She appeared on season 7 of Penn and Teller’s Fool Us, and has performed for AMA Resorts, the Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts, the Mayor of London, England, and the Mayor of Edmonton, Canada. She has also coordinated performances for the City of Adelaide, The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, and many other unique performance products for galas, festivals, fundraisers, and corporate celebrations. Miranda holds a BFA in Acting and studied at the Moscow Art Theatre School. Miranda co-conceptualized and built all of our roving character costumes, her own escape acts, and many shows. She now lives in London, England.
Richard Lee
Past Company Artist
Richard is an actor, creator, and dancer. In addition to a B.F.A. in Acting from the University of Alberta, he has independently trained in contemporary dance across North America and Europe. He has performed for a wide array of companies including the Citadel Theatre, Mayday Danse, Alberta Theatre Projects, and the Good Women Dance Collective. He is also a decorated writer, having won a Sterling Award for Achievement in Playwriting (Theatre for Young Audiences) for The Antyssey, co-written with Joel Crichton.
He is now pursuing an MFA in Movement Direction and Teaching at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, England.
